Jorge Baeza is a trainer at the Carabineros dog training unit in Santiago, Chile, where he has trained numerous dogs. In 2013, he met Jerjes, an exceptionally special dog, and they quickly formed a deep friendship.

Their connection was far deeper than a typical trainer and K9 police dog relationship!
They shared genuine emotions, making it heartbreaking when Baeza tragically lost his life in a terrible car accident while on his way to visit his grandparents on December 16 of this year. Jerjes was devastated!

Without hesitation, Jerjes’ colleague brought the dog to Baeza’s funeral. The presence of this special dog touched all of his relatives.
Jerjes approached the coffin to give an unexpected and emotional farewell at the burial of his friend and mentor, Jorge Baeza.

In his final goodbye to his mentor, Jerjes stood on his hind legs with his front paws gently touching the coffin, adopting a dignified stance he had learned from Baeza.

Eduardo Ortega, who attended the funeral and shared this emotional photo, stated: “I believe it’s important to share this image. Today, we bid farewell to a fellow soldier, a dedicated dog trainer, and his colleagues from Santiago who came to honor their devoted pet.”

May he rest in peace and remain safe and protected in Heaven… Love, dedication, and loyalty are the beautiful qualities of a dog. He will miss his handler dearly.
